I think KDEparted must have changed since the guide was made as the software's behaviour and the options listed in the guide were not all there. We are then to create our other partitions, hit apply and come back to the unformatted 64mg partition and change it from unformatted to unknown and choose the bios_grub flag. At which point KDEparted will give you an error but that's ok. Make a new unformated 64mb partition and to hit apply. The guide said to go to KDE parition editor. Guide says to use no /boot paritition (aka, leave it in the root dir) but the KAOS installer says (in bold.) to use a 512mb fat32 /boot partition when using GPT. There's a contridiction between the installer's recommendation and those of the guide. I went through the GPT partitioning guide and I have a few more questions. Grub-install: error: will not proceed with blocklists.Įxcept when I tried sudo grub-install /dev/sdb1 where it told me, it can't embed in a ext2 directory.Īny ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for your help. However, blocklists are UNRELIABLE and their use is discouraged. GRUB can only be installed in this setup by using blocklists. Grub-install: warning: Embedding is not possible. Grub-install: warning: this GPT partition label contains no BIOS Boot Partition embedding won't be possible. It pretty much had the same /]# sudo grub-install /dev/sdb I've also included a transcript of all these konsole sessions in the zip file. I then went back to this forum and followed your tutorial on chroot and installing grub from scratch on already existing installation. I've also tried installing grub from konsole. If you're curious ImageUSB can be found here: Instead I used ImageUSB which writes the iso to USB bit to bit as does imagewriter (it verified the stick after it was done and I had verified the hash of the iso after download). ImageWriter didn't work for me and I tried on on several different pcs and os and different usb sticks. I don't see a attach function on this forum, so I've uploaded the zip to mediafire: I'm attaching a zip file that has all the logs you've asked for: calamares.log, sysinfo from octopi. I got this error whether I choose embed in mba or install in boot partition There's a 10mb gap between first partition and start of disk to allow grub to embed itself.Ĭalamares runs the installation all the way to the end and gives this error: └─sdb6 8 0 299.6G 0 part (ntfs for non linux storage - no os) Hello, I'm trying to reinstall KAOS while doing my own partitioning:

So, despite the many options for distributing your message electronically, printed collateral isn't going away anytime soon. Considering the needs of your audience is critical to anyone with a message to convey, and in a world crowded with so many distractions competing to receive your readers' attention, you have an obligation to meet them more than halfway if you expect your message to be heard. Just because I may prefer a digital experience for consuming information, it doesn't mean everyone I interact with shares that preference. There's another part of the equation, too. While you could argue that some of these items could be made obsolete by their digital equivalents, they haven't been, and digitizing them myself is more work than the payoff would justify. I see posters from events, and even a piece of origami. I see calendars and brochures and instruction guides. Sure, almost all of my communications are electronic these days, and my scanner makes quick work of almost everything that comes to me in a dead tree format.īut as I look around my home office and wonder why there are still stacks of paper here and there, I realize there are some things that just make more sense in physical form, at least for part of their existence. The paperless utopia I imagined I would be living in by now remains a work in progress. As I've thought more about why, I've decided it's the long tail of paper that's holding me back. The Halo Bolt provided power to the computer for 5 hours, 14 minutes before running out of battery, but that’s a fair bit less than the Mophie Powerstation AC (6 hours, 22 minutes) and ZMI PowerPort 20000 (8 hours, 4 minutes) in the same test. In a separate test, I played a locally-downloaded movie on loop at 100 percent brightness on the laptop, with the Halo Bolt plugged in to sustain the laptop’s fully-charged battery. It went from 0 percent to 88 percent in 1 hour and 30 minutes, at a maximum recorded charging rate of 58.29W (20.1V/1.9A). Plugging in a mid-2019 MacBook Pro (13-inch) with its own AC adapter, the Halo Bolt charged it quickly but ran out of juice before the battery could fully recharge. In my testing, the results didn’t quite match those targets. The Halo Bolt has 58,830mWh of battery power within, and the official description suggests that it can provide up to several hours of additional usage for a MacBook Pro or iPad Air. Lifewire / Andrew Hayward Charging Speed and Battery: Not so long-lasting The right side, meanwhile, has the 115V AC/65W max AC power plug input for laptop chargers and other plug-in devices. The front face is where most of the ports sit, including two USB-A ports (5V/2.4A), a DC input for the charging adapter, and jump-start inputs hidden behind a small door. It’s made of mostly thick black plastic outside, including a glossy brushed silver top layer with an imprinted Halo logo. Smaller, cheaper battery packs are available for smartphones, but this beast is made for heavier-duty needs and is designed accordingly. This big brick of a battery pack comes in at 7.2 x 1.6 x 3.8 inches (HWD) with a weight of more than 1.5 pounds. While certainly portable, the Halo Bolt isn’t designed to be pocket-friendly. I tested the Halo Bolt for a week with multiple devices, including laptops and smartphones. Still, the added versatility gives the Halo Bolt a unique edge in the market. Granted, it doesn’t pack as much power as some dedicated laptop chargers, which may be a better option for that need. This heavy brick of a portable charger proves to be a handy tool, especially in the car-whether for emergencies or when you need to top up a device while you’re away from home. There are all sorts of portable laptop chargers designed for smartphones, tablets, laptops, and mobile game systems, but the Halo Bolt one-ups them in one fundamental respect: it can also jump-start your car. Either one or both of your parents must have the condition or be a carrier of it. It’s also possible to become a carrier of thalassemia, where you only have one mutated gene and not two from both parents. As a result, you will have two mutated genes. To develop full thalassemia, both of your parents must be carriers of the disease. People with thalassemia intermedia don’t need blood transfusions. It develops because of alterations in both beta globin genes. Thalassemia intermedia is a less severe form. This form of thalassemia is usually so severe that it requires regular blood transfusions. jaundice, which is a yellowing of the skin or the whites of the eyes. The severe anemia related to this condition can be life-threatening. The symptoms of thalassemia major generally appear before a child’s second birthday. It develops when beta globin genes are missing. Thalassemia major is the most severe form of beta thalassemia. This type of thalassemia comes in two serious subtypes: thalassemia major (Cooley’s anemia) and thalassemia intermedia. Two genes, one from each parent, are inherited to make beta globin.
